A Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) role is to manage, implement & is responsible for usability of information and computer technologies. Things have completely changed, ever since the pandemic, things have started to shift and more and more importance is being given to the position of CIO because they are largely responsible for adapting to changing technologies. For the time being at least, they are in the forefront and they are responsible for coming up with the game plan that is going to see the company through the pandemic. With the increasing adoption of work-from-home or WFH by companies the CIOs are under enormous pressure to choose the best system that is secure, accessible and overall a turnkey solution. As mentioned earlier due to the pandemic, CIOs now have the responsibility of choosing the right tech which will determine if the company makes it or not during the pandemic. The list pretty much encompasses what is required of a CIO right now, if I have to think of one thing that needs to be added is that a CIO is also responsible for ensuring the correct information is passed to their employees and before adoption of any new tech the CIO has to ensure that their employees have enough breathing room to train and get used to it.
