{"id":942,"date":"2013-07-01T11:58:27","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T11:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.billingparadise.com\/blog\/?p=942"},"modified":"2023-03-24T02:20:05","modified_gmt":"2023-03-24T07:20:05","slug":"5-reasons-why-clinicsbilling-vendors-should-attend-unbound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.billingparadise.com\/blog\/5-reasons-why-clinicsbilling-vendors-should-attend-unbound\/","title":{"rendered":"Unbound: 5 reasons for clinic\/billing vendors to attend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Healthcare delivery is changing for the better, and is progressing through a series of sequential or concomitant milestones.\u00a0 We have written about each of these milestones in this blog here, in some detail, in the past. \u00a0However, it requires a unique meeting of healthcare minds, like at <b><i>Unbound, <\/i><\/b>which will be into its 10<sup>th<\/sup> chapter this year, on July 11 and 12<sup>th<\/sup> at Aurora, Colorado, to bring many of these motley lines of thoughts into perspective.\u00a0 As an aside though <b><i>Healthcare Unbound,<\/i><\/b> essentially has been focusing on <i>&#8220;technology in, on and around the body that frees care from formal institutions.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><\/i><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Is F4S Already a Mammoth ??<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0We have been hearing about the imminent demise of the Fee-for-Service Model for some time now, we had even dedicated a couple of blog posts to this, but in the words of <i>Mark Blatt, MD, Director of Intel Health<\/i>, this is already a mammoth, consumed by the latest Ice Age of healthcare churning, <b>\u201c<i>this is like a 30-day eviction notice\u2026and it\u2019s happening faster than anyone thinks.<\/i>\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>One can reasonably assume this is no exaggeration, as a new survey in <strong><i>Health Leaders<\/i> reveals that nearly 40% of the providers now believe that F4S will be defunct in 3 years.<\/strong>\u00a0 <i>Collaborative care<\/i> and <i>better care for less<\/i> are the mantras that are now doing the clinical rounds.\u00a0 There is now even CPT codes for coordination of care concepts. \u00a0To quote Dr. Blatt again, <b><i>\u201c<\/i><\/b><b><i>We\u2019re moving fast\u2026they\u2019re willing to pay for non face-to-face services. They\u2019re not going to pay you for production, they\u2019re going to pay you for coordination.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b>F4S fallout will be one of the important topics debated at <i>Healthcare Unbound<\/i> this year.\u00a0 The other is new perspectives on remote monitoring &amp; telehealth.\u00a0 This of course is to minimize the penalties incurred due to 30-day readmission.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">5 Reasons Why Clinics- <i>Medical Billing Vendors<\/i> Should Attend Unbound<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1.\u00a0 The first reason is of course what <i>Unbound<\/i> stands for, as the above definition denotes.\u00a0 Engaging the patient is a mandatory skill healthcare providers would be expected to exhibit, to reduce unnecessary readmission, and thus reduce cost of healthcare.\u00a0 <i>Unbound<\/i> is a right step in that direction to help cultivate that skill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a02.\u00a0 To learn about the latest technologies in the mobile\/tele-medicine sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a03.\u00a0 To learn more about the CMS \u201cblue button\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a04.
