The role of CIOs, according to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> report, will be crucial to smoothen the transition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Workers will be looking to IT leaders for help in leveraging the tech tools that will provide them a semblance of a collaborative work environment, which was available to them in the office.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Colleen Berube, CIO at Zendesk, speaking to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WSJ, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">explained that CIOs can be most successful during this time by leveraging the opportunity to instill new working practices for remote work, noting that this would help them find a stronger way of working globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The company recently deployed a video-conferencing enabled virtual onboarding process for new hires and several new self-service tools that needed IT support, with MS. Berube overseeing the operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Similarly, startup company GitLab&#8217;s CEO, Sid Sijbrandji maintained that all his employees were encouraged to work remotely since its inception. Speaking to WSJ, he pointed out that this was a giant opportunity for CIOs to make companies more efficient.
